Hey, everyone! ^_^

Time for a blog theme, that has been around for a long time: Things I Love Thursdays! The idea for this is by Gala Darling! :D

Anyway, here are the things I love this week:

♥ The book Princess Academy by Shannon Hale. It is a delightful read, and I recommend it to anyone who loves fairytale retellings. :D

♥ The fact that I took off the doors to my bookcase and I love it! It makes my bookcase look better I think.

♥ Watching Cinderella over, and over, and over again this week.

♥ I'm getting a new kitty cat named Sonnet tomorrow!!! ^_^ I'm very excited!

♥ French fries with bacon and cheese and ranch sauce. Need I say more?

♥ My bulletin board. It's like my personal piece of art. I need to take a picture of it sometime for you ladies! :D

♥ Finding this journal and hoping I can remember to post! ;)

Love Yourself!

Long time, no post! :( But I come today with something special: loving yourself.

I've found it very hard to love myself in the past, but now it's very easy. I used to hate myself and I wanted to end it all. I thought since people 'did not like me' that I was horrible, when in truth it was me who did not like me!

Think of the reasons you don't like yourself: beauty, smarts, what people say, ect. Do they really matter? No. No, what people say about you it does not matter. Beauty is the most beautiful when you find it inside yourself, and everyone is smart, just in different areas! Whatever the reason, don't put yourself down, but start to love the good qualities about yourself.

I'd also like to share this song that will hopefully make you feel better. I know it does for me! :D

Expressing Yourself!

What is your favorite way to express yourself? Do you like to do needlepoint? Or do you like to draw or paint? Share with me!

I like to do all sorts of things! I like to write fariy tales, and sometime I will post them here. :) And I like to copy pictures so I can practice my drawing. And the easiest way is to write in a dairy or journal! It keeps up your penmanship and you can look back and read your entries of what you were doing the year before or some other time. :D

My latest project is to cross-stich a picture of Princess Peach(you know, the princess Mario is always trying to rescue). What is your current project?

Long Time No See!

I'm SO sorry for not posting in a long time. I forgot I even had this blog. O_O I got so busy and when I came back and saw that I had six fallowers and some comments on the tagboard, I was very excited!

I have fixed the commenting system. So, you can now comment. :) Thanks to those who alerted me of the problem.

Who here reads Jane Austen? I have just started reading one of her books (Northanger Abbey) and I'm falling in love with the way she writes and how society was then. Women were ladies and men were gentlemen. You dressed for every occasion, and it was advised for ladies to be 'accomplished'.

I quote:

To be called "accomplished", a young lady was expected to have a mastery of music, dancing, and drawing. Her social graces were to be beyond reproach, her manners flawless, her penmanship perfect, and her needlepoint impeccable. She should have full command of the modern languages, and something in her general manner should set her apart from others. She should continually improve her mind by reading to truly deserve the designation of "accomplished."

Now ladies are few and far between, it seems to me. Women becoming drunk a parties, getting pregnant at a young age, and showing off in a rude manner. I think women like that are a disgrace to our gender. Men now expect a women to be 'loose' and wild, not accomplished and ladylike.

I think that women should be able to do as they please, don't get me wrong, but I think a woman can do it with good manners and quality. You will gain respect and integrity, as well as a sense of accomplishment.

I'm not saying you can't have a good time or anything like that, but don't be a woman, be a lady. :)

Fairy Tale Writing Challenge!

I have been thinking a lot about fairy tales lately. I like to think my life is a fairy tale; I live in a cozy cottage in the woods, with my garden and well(don't forget to make a wish!), and an endless library in the attic. There are unicorns and fairies in the woods, and many flowers to look at and pick.

How would you write your fairy tale? Would your life be one of a heroine? A princess? A queen? Would you be a poor servant girl who finds riches?

I've decided to do a bi-monthly writing challenge for this blog. This month's challenge is one where you must write how your life is a fairy tale. When you're finished, post it on the Internet somewhere, and give me a link. ^_^ There is no winner or loser; there is no word minimum or maximum. There are a few rules though:

♥ No bashing, hating, or flaming of another's work.
♥ You must write your story in English.
♥ If you decide to join the challenge, you must reply to this post or on the tagboard with a link to your story by May 20th.

Review: Cardcaptor Sakura

Cardcaptor Sakura is an anime about a girl named Sakura who ends-up unleashing Clow Cards out into the world, and with the help of Kerborus(the Cards guardian and her friends) she has to capture the cards before a horrible evil falls upon the world. But these are not just cards, they are living, working beings and capturing them is going to take more than just waving her wand and saying a few words.

I'm am thoroughly enjoying this anime, and thought I'd share. If you find this interesting, here's some links:

Mr. Poppington's Eye

As you know, today is Annual LiveJournal Rabbit Hole Day! I thought I would post my story here too. So, here's today's adventure!

Today, as I woke-up the birds were singing their usual songs, and a cloudy atmosphere surrounded my house. The wind was blowing, and as I was putting on my dress, my cat Snapper jumped up on the bed and meowed really loud.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"Merow!"

"Alright. We'll go outside!"

So, we ran down the stairs and out the backdoor out into the garden. Snapper busied herself by chasing a butterfly. I sat down on the garden bench and looked up at the sky. It was starting to rain. I really didn't want to go in, but Snapper was already scratching at the backdoor. So, I let her in, and ran to the woods. There was a little building there that was my 'playhouse'.

I finally got there and opened the door. Inside was my little sofa, desk and chair, and art supplies and books. I read for a little bit, and then the weather go so bad, I had to go back to the cottage. I grabbed some of my favorite books, put them in a bag, and ran to the cottage.

Once inside, I had breakfast, and then went upstairs to my room. I sat down in the window seat where Baby,the other cat, was sitting. She yawned and curled up again. Now that I was inside, I had nothing exciting to do. This was a time for pretend.

I got out my stuffed bears, tea set, and picnic blanket and spread it all out on the floor. Snapper had a good time licking water out of the tea cups and fighting with an old stuffed cat I let her have.

"Mr. Poppington," I said, "how are you this rainy day?"

"I 'orrible," the old bear said. He tried to straighten his bow tie, but only succeed in knocking his loose eye out. "My eye won't stay in and Miss. Sheepish on the bookcase really makes fun of me for it."

"Well, she'll just have to get over it."

"I would put a patch on it," said Mrs. Polar.

"Where am I to get an eye patch? And I'm not a pirate!"

I stood up and went to my trunk where the dress-up clothes were. I found it! The eye patch would be too big for him, so I wrapped it around his head two or three times.

Mr. Poppington reached up to his eye and smiled. "It's not coming out!"

Snapper then picked up Mr. Poppington and pulled him under the bed with her.

I'm sad to say that's the last I ever saw of him. And Miss Sheepish then had nothing or no one to complain about. :(

Two weeks later I found pieces of fuzz strewn about my room, and Snapper was happily chewing on a red ribbon.

Stupid cat.

Review: The Royal Diary Series

The books are marketed towards tween girls, but I still enjoy them, and I'm 18. Each book is about a famous(or not so known) princess, and it's like you're reading their diary. :) While you're reading the book, you learn the history of the culture they grew-up in, their personal history, and what it's like to be a real princess.

There are twenty books in the series. In the back is an epilogue telling about what happens after their diary ends, a historical note about their culture and the times they were living in, information about the family(and a family tree!), and pictures of the princess. If there were any fictional characters in the book, there will be a list of all the characters, and a side note about whether they were real or not.

Some of my favorites are about princesses who I had never heard of. Some of them are: Sŏndŏk: Princess of the Moon and Stars, Korea, A.D. 595 by Sheri Holman, Lady of Ch'iao Kuo: Warrior of the South, Southern China, 531 A.D by Laurence Yep, and Kristina The Girl King, Sweden, 1638 by Carolyn Meyer.

They have princesses of every life and background, so if you don't like one, you'll be sure to find you do like! :D

Snow Day

Today, it is snowing at my house. What did you used to do on a snow day when you were younger? Can you remember what it was like to catch snow on your tongue or to make snow angels?

Here's a list to help you have fun on your snow day!

Drink hot chocolate or apple cider.
Play board games with friends.
Go outside(if you can) and play in the snow: snowball fights, make snow angels, and even build a snowman.
Read a good book with a warm blanket.
Draw a snow scene or even color some snow coloring sheets printed off the 'Net.
Watch old movies with a bowl of popcorn.
Listen to your favorite music and dance with the snow!
Gather some snow from outside and make snow ice cream.
Make snowballs and save them in the freezer.

I hope you have fun with your snow day(s) and that my list helped. :D
